Toro Bravo!

Okay so for Nami's birthday i took her out to Toro Bravo, a brand spankin new Tapas place here in PDX. And Holy Fuck! It was sooooo goood!

Here is the thing about tapas. Don't be so fucking pushy. That is the deal with tapas. Is it good news? Most definitely. Is it "hey buster make sure you get here on time and then we will put you through in the most timely manner as possible because we understand you are a fucking type "A" personality and need to get back to work even though it is a Friday night but I am sure you have some sort of year end budget that cant fucking wait until Monday so we will race it all out to you so you can wolf it down and be on your merry way?"

Umm..not so muchie.

It is a good relaxed atmosphere. Almost like a neighborhood hang out where you just chill. We got there...they don't take reservations...and it was a Tuesday nite...and the place was packed. They told us 45 min wait..thats cool..so we grabbed a couple of cocktails and headed into this little alcove where you drink and wait. Then 20 mins later we were seated. Awesome. And the food was delightful! Highlights:

Oxtail Coquettes: wonderfully seasoned beef in these lightly deep fried balls that were served in a light, sweet sauce with chili mayo. Yum.

Bacon-wrapped Dates: just yum...in the center is a single almond.

Lightly Garlic-ed and grilled bread with sauteed chanterelle mushrooms on them. I mean, come ON!

All in all, I give them 100 spoons. You should go.
